As the author's last visit to Laage was more than 20 years ago, the Bundeswehr Day on June 6 was to provide the occasion to drop by the former NVA airfield once again, with the announced participation of a Polish MiG-29 and a Swedish Gripen in the flying programme providing additional motivation. Unfortunately, the MiG-29 was only in the static display, while the Gripen did not show up at all. The Bundeswehr flying programme, with a very restrained Eurofighter display and many breaks, also offered little to get excited about. Only the impressive flypast of three A400Ms and the demonstration under the fine German name SNAP (Significance of National Airpower) at the end of his visit remain particularly in the author's memory. For his next visits to the Bundeswehr Day he will certainly choose closer locations to improve the cost-benefit ratio. Here is the photo report (with two small reminiscences of the MiG-21):
