 Open Day Zadar 2006

On October 20, 2006 the Croatian Air Force (Hrvatsko ratno zrakoplovstvo - HRZ) held an open day at Zadar-Zemunik air base. Of each aircraft type in service one was on display.

The MiG-21UMD in Croatian national colours was part of the display ...

... while this MiG-21 stood aside.

Look over the flightline.

Both Bell 206 ...

... and UTVA-75 are used to train pilots.

The HRZ are tasked with fire fighting and therefore operate purpose built aircraft types Air Tractor AT-802F and ...

... Canadair CL-415.

Transport fleet was represented by an An-32 and ...

... a Mi-8.

The only flying aircraft that day was this PC-9.

The majority of Croatian PC-9s is based at Zadar where a large hangar can accommodate all aircraft.

The Jastrebs in open storage beside the airfield were captured from the Krajina Serbs during the operations in 1995.

Both MiG-21 were to fly to Pula at the end of the event but remained in Zadar due to the bad weather.
