The 1999 Salon International de l’Aéronautique et de l’Espace (SIAE) at Paris Le Bourget continued a "tradition" of the preceding events: with the MiG-21 LanceR III, an upgraded MiG-21 variant was shown once again and (as far as the author knows) for the last time – this time even on the ground and in the air. In addition, the Eastern presence was very strong overall, and from the USA, too, an aircraft could be seen once again that disappeared into obscurity shortly afterwards ...
