The author's visit to the Bundeswehr Day at the International Helicopter Training Centre in Bückeburg on June 17 was essentially driven by the wish for aviation action without much travelling, and this wish was fulfilled. At an extraordinarily well organised event (the smooth bus shuttle deserves mention as much as the free and generous supply of drinking water to visitors on a hot day), a varied programme was offered. Not only the hosts and their foreign helicopter colleagues gave attractive displays, but also the transport crews and the soldiers of the KSK special forces, whose tactical demonstration together with the helicopters formed the finale and highlight of the event. Here is the photo report.
